Vanguard Homes was established in 2006 as the outgrowth of a successful homebuilding company with a unique and progressive goal: to be an area leader in homebuilding quality, service and innovation validated by measurable differences in land development, product design, and home efficiency. With a strong focus on home livability, Vanguard’s communities exist in carefully selected locations with homes characterized by detailed floor plans designed for the unique lifestyles of today’s affluent homebuyers.

Kip Guyon

Kip Guyon is a West Point graduate and Desert Storm/Desert Shield veteran who has operated as a licensed homebuilder in both Georgia and North Carolina for nearly twenty years. In 1991, Kip left the U.S. military to join Procter and Gamble where he held several key operations management roles while continuing to manage his homebuilding company. In early 2006, Kip left Procter and Gamble to more completely pursue his passion as a homebuilder and was named President of Dave Servoss’s homebuilding company. Backed by his personal building experience, leadership skills, and passion, Kip is leading the establishment of Vanguard Homes as one of North Carolina’s most innovative builders while creating communities that are unique and personal to our distinguished homebuyers.

Dave Servoss

Dave Servoss originally entered the homebuilding industry in Michigan after serving in the U.S. Army and attending Cleary College in Ypsilanti. Dave started as a carpenter with a small construction company gaining hands on experience in building and remodeling. In 1970, Dave joined Ryan Homes’ Toledo Division as an assistant field supervisor, but made the switch to sales a few years later quickly becoming the 4th ranked sales representative out of 31. In 1976 Dave shared his growing expertise in the building industry by joining Ryan Homes Building Systems Division as a builder consultant for the North Carolina area. Dave’s responsibilities included establishing sales, production, administrative, and financing programs to be used throughout the company. In February of 1980 Dave established a Raleigh based homebuilding company focused on the first-time buyer, closing 14 homes the first year with just 3 employees. In 1993 he began a second homebuilding company with more focus on customization, but in 1994 he merged the 2 companies and concepts, creating what now functions as one of the largest privately owned and operated homebuilding companies in the Triangle, delivering approximately 350 homes annually. Dave is a true leader with substantial experience in both custom and volume homebuilding and is confident that Vanguard Homes will deliver something new to the market.

Chris Stark

Chris Stark is President of Strategic Sales Growth and Pivotal Resource Group which are both based in Cary, North Carolina. Chris is a former US National Judo Champion and holds a Master of International Management degree from Thunderbird – The Garvin School of International Management. Strategic Sales Growth, a franchise of the Sandler Sales Institute, was one of the top five Sandler franchisees worldwide in 2006. Pivotal Resource Group, a general management consulting firm, focuses on the real estate and construction industries. Chris counts as clients firms including Fonville Morisey Realty, FM Lending, FM Builder Marketing Group, Jordan Homes and Legacy Homes. His 30 years of business experience includes the guidance and management as COO of over 8,000 employees for a Top 20 casual dining restaurant chain. Chris brings a unique perspective to Vanguard Homes and provides the roadmap to success supported by the acquisition and development of high caliber talent that possesses the flexibility to change with market and buyer expectations.
